Do you want to be one of us?
With us, you will be part of a warm, experienced, and supportive unit that is passionate about its mission.
The unit consists of 9 child secretaries (including one senior social worker) and 8 foster care secretaries, led by an accessible and committed unit manager.
Together, we work to create safety, stability, and development for children and young people placed in foster care. We are engaged in ongoing and long-term development work related to the new social services act, where we strengthen the child rights perspective and further develop our working methods based on Signs of Safety and the fundamental principles of BBIC.
We are also in the process of building our own enhanced foster care, a sustainable and qualitative approach to meet children's needs and provide the right support to foster homes over time. We also have a newly started STELLA reception in the municipality.
Why work with us?
- Meaningful tasks - where you contribute to creating safe environments for children and young people. We strive to use our competencies and experiences in the best way possible in our work.
- Competent and supportive leadership - with us, you have close contact with your manager and colleagues who support you in your work.
- Transparency and participation – you will be part of our joint development work, where we encourage ideas and make decisions together as a team.
- Development opportunities – we offer continuous education and supervision to help you grow in your role and feel secure in your work.
- We care about health and balance – we understand the importance of balancing work and leisure and offer the possibility of remote work when the business allows it, as well as benefits such as flexible hours, wellness grants, and vacation swapping to ensure you feel good both at work and outside of it.
Your role
As a foster care secretary with us, you will recruit, investigate, educate, and supervise foster homes, emergency homes, contact persons, and contact families. You work closely with other actors, always focusing on the best interests of the child. Together with the child's social worker, the child's biological network, and other professionals, you form an important support team around the child. The work also includes managing contracts and finances related to our contractors and being responsible for documentation.
The work involves a lot of collaboration with other actors and individuals, focusing on the placed child/youth. You will be part of a team that, in addition to you, consists of a child secretary, the child's biological network, and the foster home/emergency home, as well as other treatment staff when needed. Travel with overnight stays may occur.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and several years of experience in social work within social services, focusing on children and youth. Experience in foster care, BBIC, Signs of Safety, and training in supervising foster homes is advantageous. You are a self-driven and solution-oriented person with a genuine commitment to foster care, children, and youth.
You thrive in a flexible work environment where you handle both urgent and long-term tasks. You have strong organizational skills and feel confident making decisions. Above all, you are a team player who contributes to a positive and safe work environment.
You share our values and approaches as described in our employee and leadership policy.
